Law Enforcement Guidelines

Effective date: July 24, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 24, 2026

These guidelines explain how Pure Souls responds to lawful requests from law enforcement and government authorities for user information. They are intended for law enforcement agencies and authorised legal authorities. For general privacy questions, see our Privacy Policy.

01

Purpose & Scope

Pure Souls operates a chat and companionship service at puresouls.app. We take user privacy seriously and disclose account or content data only when we believe we are legally required to do so, or when disclosure is necessary to protect life or prevent imminent serious harm.

These guidelines apply to requests from law enforcement, courts, and other government authorities seeking Pure Souls user data. They do not create contractual rights for third parties and do not limit our rights under our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

02

How to Submit a Request

All non-emergency legal process and preservation requests must be sent to:

Pure Souls — Legal / Law Enforcement
Email: legal@puresouls.app
Website: puresouls.app

Requests should include:

We may decline to process informal requests that are not supported by valid legal process, except in the emergency circumstances described in Section 7.

03

Required Legal Process

Unless an emergency exception applies, we generally require valid legal process appropriate to the type of information sought and the applicable jurisdiction. Depending on the request, this may include:

We review each request for formal validity, jurisdiction, specificity, and consistency with applicable law. We may seek clarification, object, or move to quash process that we believe is improper, overly broad, or legally insufficient.

04

Information We May Provide

Subject to valid process and what we actually retain, Pure Souls may be able to produce categories of data such as:

We do not guarantee that every category exists for every account or date range. Data may have been deleted pursuant to our retention practices or a user deletion request, except where we are required to retain it.

05

Response Timeline

We aim to acknowledge receipt of properly submitted requests within 5 business days and to provide a substantive response within a reasonable period thereafter, taking into account the scope of the request, legal review, and any return date in the process.

Emergency requests under Section 7 are prioritised and handled as quickly as practicable.

06

User Notice

Where legally permitted, Pure Souls may notify the affected user of a legal request for their information before or after disclosure, so they have an opportunity to seek legal remedies.

We will not provide notice when prohibited by law, court order, or a valid non-disclosure directive, or when notice would create a risk of death or serious bodily harm, or would compromise an investigation in a way that applicable law recognises as a basis to withhold notice.

07

Emergency Disclosures

If we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent death or serious physical injury, we may disclose limited information to law enforcement without awaiting formal legal process, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Emergency requests should be emailed to legal@puresouls.app with “EMERGENCY” in the subject line, and should describe the nature of the emergency, the imminent harm, the specific information needed, and the requesting officer’s contact details. We may request follow-up legal process after an emergency disclosure.

08

Preservation Requests

Upon a written preservation request from a government authority, we will take reasonable steps to preserve specified account records already in our possession for a limited period (typically up to 90 days, unless a longer period is required or agreed), pending receipt of formal legal process.

Preservation requests should be sent to legal@puresouls.app and should identify the account and the records to be preserved. A preservation request alone does not compel disclosure.

09

International Requests

Requests from authorities outside our primary operating jurisdictions should generally proceed through applicable mutual legal assistance treaties (MLATs), letters rogatory, or other recognised international legal assistance channels, unless another lawful basis for disclosure applies.

We evaluate international requests under applicable law and may require domestication or process issued by a court with appropriate jurisdiction.
