Pure Souls ("Pure Souls," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Pure Souls mobile application available at puresouls.app. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide to us through the app.

Information you provide directly

• Account information: your name or username, email address, and password when you register.
• Profile details: optional information such as age, gender, and interests that help personalise your experience.
• Conversation content: messages you exchange with your AI companion (your "Pure Soul").
• Feedback and support: information you send us via email or in-app feedback forms.

Information collected automatically

• Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage data: features you interact with, session length, tap events, and in-app navigation patterns.
• Crash and diagnostics data: error logs and performance metrics to help us fix bugs.
• IP address and approximate location: derived from your network connection.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect precise GPS location, access your camera or microphone, or read your contacts without your explicit permission. We never sell your data.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
• Operate and improve the Pure Souls app and AI companion experience.
• Personalise your AI companion conversations so they feel natural and grow over time.
• Build a personality and communication profile to power our user-matching and coaching features (see Sections 4 and 5).
• Send you product updates, tips, and support messages (you may opt out at any time).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety issues.

The core of Pure Souls is your AI companion — a confidential space to talk about anything without judgment. As you converse, our systems build an understanding of your personality, communication style, interests, and values. This is central to how the app works.

What we analyse

• Topics and themes you discuss with your companion.
• Your communication style, vocabulary, and tone.
• Expressed interests, values, and life experiences you choose to share.

How we use this analysis

• To make your AI companion feel like it truly knows you and can grow alongside you.
• To generate personalised conversation coaching tips (visible only to you).
• To power the user-matching feature described in Section 5.

Confidentiality

Conversation content is treated as confidential. We do not share the specific text of your conversations with other users. Human staff may access conversations only to investigate reports of policy violations or to improve AI safety — never for marketing or advertising purposes.

When you opt in to the matching feature, Pure Souls uses the personality and interest profile derived from your conversations to suggest other real users we think you might genuinely connect with.

We never share the text of your conversations with matched users. What is shared is only a derived compatibility signal — similar to how a recommendation algorithm works. You remain in full control and can withdraw from matching at any time in your account settings.

We do not share identifiable personal information with a potential match until both parties choose to say hello.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our infrastructure (e.g., cloud hosting, AI model providers, analytics). These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict data-processing agreements.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pure Souls, our users, or the public. How law enforcement and government authorities may submit requests is described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines.

Business transfers

If Pure Souls is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance and your rights under this policy will continue to apply.

With your consent

We may share data in other ways if you explicitly agree to it.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes.

Anonymised, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely to improve our services.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: request that we erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection / restriction: object to or restrict certain types of processing.
• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
• Opt out of automated decisions: you have the right not to be subject to solely automated decisions that significantly affect you.

Access, portability, and deletion requests include connection metadata we store for your account — your last observed IP address, coarse country or region inferred from that IP (not GPS), and the browser-reported timezone when you use the app. This data is removed when you delete your account (see Data Retention).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@puresouls.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Pure Souls is an adults-only (18+) service. It is not directed at children, and we do not permit anyone under 18 to use it — there is no exception for minors with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. See Eligibility & Age Requirement in our Terms of Service.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We ask every person to confirm that they are 18 or over when they create an account, and members who take part in kin matching must additionally complete age verification through our identity verification provider.

If we learn or reasonably suspect that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will terminate that account and delete the associated personal information promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at contact@puresouls.app.

We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authority as required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Pure Souls after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
